Privacy and protection of personal data

Aansluitingregelen.nl processes personal data in accordance with the applicable privacy legislation. We consider your privacy very important and handle your personal data with care. Below you will find exactly what you can expect from us and which rules we follow.

 

Who is responsible for the processing of my personal data?

Linkd BV (hereinafter: Linkd) consists of the labels Linkd and Aansluitingregelen.nl. Linkd is registered at the Dutch Chamber of Commerce under number 39033047 and is located at Leeuwenveldseweg 18, 1382 LX Weesp. Linkd is the data controller for the collection and use of your personal data by aansluitingregeen.nl as described in this privacy statement.

 

Definitions

For the purpose of this privacy statement:

  • Personal data means any information that directly or indirectly relates to you. For example your name and address.
  • Processing means any operation or set of operations which is performed on personal data. For example, collecting our data, viewing your data, but also storing, using and removing your data from our database.

 

When do we collect personal data?

If you use aansluitngregeen.nl with or without the help of your real estate agent, to to join one or more utility services, we will collect personal data to mediate the agreement with the utility company. We also collect data when you contact us (for example via our customer service), visit our websites or ask a question.

 

From whom do we process personal data?

We process personal data of people for whom we mediate in utility services contracts and anyone with whom we have, wish to have or have had a relationship, directly or indirectly. This means that we process personal data of:

  • (potential) customers for our mediation of utility services and their representatives;
  • people who show an interest in our products and services.

 

What personal data do we collect?

We collect personal data of customers their representatives for our mediation of utility services and when advising and mediating contracts. The information includes: (company) name, gender, date of birth, address details, contact details and bank account number. We also collect current contract data, electricity consumption data and connection data. For some agreements, we may perform certain third-party checks to determine your eligibility for a product. For example, for certain agreements we have to check creditworthiness with the Credit Registration Office (BKR).

In addition we process personal data that you provide to us via the website, for example when you fill in the contact form. Which includes: name, telephone number and e-mail address. In addition to the personal data that you provide to us yourself, we may collect, record and process data about your use of our website(s). This entails information about the terminal equipment that is used, such as a unique device ID, the version of the operating system, and device settings, as well as information about the use of our website, such as the time at which it is visited and the information that is viewed.

 

For what purposes do we process personal data?

We process personal data for the following purposes:

  1. to mediate in utility contracts
  2. to perform a credit check if requested by the supplier
  3. to establish and maintain a relationship (CRM)
  4. for marketing purposes
  5. for optimizing the functioning of online web pages and the app;
  6. for conducting analysis for management information, product and service development, determining the (general) strategy as well as statistical and scientific purposes.

 

The legal grounds for processing these personal data are:

  • for the performance of a contract. For example we must register the customer with the utuility supplier.
  • to comply with a legal obligation. The Dutch tax law requires us to hold on to our financial administration, including invoices for a period of 7 years.
  • based on our legitimate interest. We process certain personal data for fraud prevention, marketing activities or to improve our services.
  • based on consent: For example sending our e-mail newsletter

Data security

We have taken technical and organizational measures to protect your personal data against unauthorized access, (accidental) destruction, distribution or any other form of unlawful processing of your data. For example, your data is stored on secure servers. Where necessary, your data is sent encrypted. We also ensure that our employees only have access to your data to the extent necessary to perform their function. Our employees are contractually obliged to keep all personal data confidential.

 

Retention periods of your data

Your personal data will be stored for ass long as necessary for the purpose for which it was processed. The retention period depends on the purposes for which the personal data is used.

 

To whom do we provide personal data?

If we act as an intermediary, we exchange personal data with the utility suppliers and the housing market professionals to connect people to their requested utility service. Sometimes we engage third parties who process personal data on our behalf. We can only engage third parties if this fits the purpose for which we have processed your personal data. When third parties process personal data on our behalf we enter into a data processing agreement.

Although we preferably use service providers within the EEA. We could occasionally engage a service provider outside the EEA. In that case we will ensure that an adequate level of data protection is provided by this third party. This could be because the European Commission has decided that the country has a similar level of data protection as the EU by means of an adequacy decision Or because the third party ensures an adequate level of protection because it has Binding Corporate Rules or abides by Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs).

At the request of the competent authority, this data can also be transferred to the authorities (police, tax authorities, supervisor etc.).
